All the Small Things | Photo Essay

All the Small Things
Different angles with different interpretations

What is photography? For the majority, photography is just simply taking pictures and nothing more. But beyond that definition, photography is not just a profession or a hobby. It is another way of seeing things in a different angle. It reveals a story that the human eye cannot usually see. This what I have learned in the activity.

"Strength in God"
Rule of Thirds

"End of Story"
Leading Lines
The pedestrian lane may lead your eyes frontward for a moment but it ended. This can symbolize that there will always be an end in every story.

"Wheel of Fortune"
Curving Lines
Nothing is permanent in life. We may be living the life today but no one knows how the future will go. There is always the possibility that our lives would change in a snap.

"Reach For It"
Straight Horizons
Nowadays, we are surrounded by material things. Overly surrounded that we cannot see anymore the beauty of nature. We are now dependent to material things and does not know that Mother Nature got some better offers.

"The More You Dig"
Imagined Horizons

"When It Blooms"
Depth
Every person matures and bloom physically but may have some problems spiritually or emotionally.

"Discover"
Frame
Imagine in this picture that the branches of the trees symbolizes darkness but slowly opens showing that there is still light to be seen.

"Stress"
Detail and Texture
The texture of this picture is rough and the leaf is too dry. The leaf may illustrate a person who is surrounded by stressful environment that makes him old.

"Keep Still"
Fill-frame
In taking this picture, the air should not be blowing too hard so that the leaves would stay still.

"Unseen Beauty"
Reflection
Entitled "Unseen Beauty" because I saw this water under the drainage and when I took a picture, turns out great.

"Move On"
Background

"Other Part"
Unique Vantage Point
Seeing in different perspective. A point of view of an insect.

"Mismatched"
Shadow
This may represent two persons. Two persons with the same features and rights but different in personality and ability.

"Sit and Wait"
Pattern and Shapes

This activity made me realize that photography is something you work hard for. It is not just having a camera and take a shot but it needs effort to emphasize the beauty of the shot. Furthermore, this activity helped me appreciate the beauty of Mother Nature. It made me see the loveliness of the nature.

“Your first 10,000 photographs are your worst.”
- Henri Cartier-Bresson

Moreover, photography also needs practice. Come to think of it, not all of my shots made sense and needs improvement. It also needs patience to get the right shot. As I take pictures, I realized that I have to look for a better view and angle. I should be creative and should know what would be the sense in taking this particular shot or is it beautiful to look at. Over time, my photographs will improve with the practice, patience and creativity that I will do and have.
